Environmental Information

We believe that the environment is important. In the development of Fish4Dogs products, there has been consideration to the environment wherever possible.

Reduced Waste.
An astounding 50% of fish is considered as 'waste by the food industry. Although just as nutritious as the rest of the fish, this 50% is simply thrown away.

That's where Fish4Dogs step in. Our products were developed after 2 years research into better utilisation of fish by-products. By better utilising the whole fish to make our food and treas, we make better use of our natural resources and reduce land-fill. And dogs and cat love 'em too!

Sustainable sources.
We source our fish from sustainable sources i.e. ‘in quota’ stocks. These fish are not identified as being under threat.

We are very aware of the concern over the long term availability of cod and it is for this reason that we haved moved to the general umbrella of ‘Fish’ for our cod recipe. This diet will continue, in the foreseeable future, to be predominantly cod but will allow for more flexibility should there come a time when the cod can be replaced by an alternative white fish of premium quality.

Bio-degradeable.
We are continually reviewing the availability of bio-degradeable packaging for our products, however due to the naturally occurring oil
content in fish the limited packaging that is available is not suitable for food products (supermarkets have the same problem for human food).

The carrier bags that we use at events are bio-degradeable.

Marine Conservation Society.
Fish4Dogs have recently received a Silver Award from the Marine Conservation Society in recognition of the company's support.

The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) is the UK charity dedicated to caring for our seas, shores and wildlife. MCS campaigns for clean seas and beaches, sustainable fisheries, and protection for all marine life. This year sees the MCS celebrating their silver jubilee,
25 years of groundbreaking work to protect our sea life - from whales, dolphins, sharks and turtles, to fish, plankton, corals and crabs.
